Lexus axes the LS luxury saloon in the UK

It's been 35 years since Lexus first launched in the UK

Poor sales combined with new legislation and homologation issues means the Lexus LS is no longer available to buy in the UK. The base LS model started at £101,000 and went up to £128,000 for the range-topping Takumi trim.

Sadly, Lexus only managed to sell 39 units of the hybrid V6-powered saloon since 2020 and last year it was a measely 3 cars. So the ES will now be the only new Lexus saloon offered in the UK.

The first-generation LS 400 came to British shores in 1990 and was a serious contender in the luxury saloon segment which included the iconic Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The LS was also the quietest car in the world at the time.

In its place is the LM which has proven itself as a popular luxury MPV.
